MOORE Expo Recap 2024

Embarking on a 1300-mile journey from Prescott, AZ to Springfield, MO, Mike and I set out on a beautiful Spring morning, stopping at Santa Rose, NM the first night, Tulsa, OK the second night, before finally arriving at the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds in Springfield on Thursday afternoon. Despite some initial weather challenges with heavy winds, rain forecasts, and potential tornado warnings, we were fortunate to have clear skies for the event.
As first-time exhibitors at MOORE Expo, Tern Overland found its place on the edge of the outdoor exhibiting area, amidst the backdrop of two indoor buildings dedicated to power sports and overlanding, respectively. This year marked the debut of the Powersports expansion, catering to the diverse interests of attendees.
Attendees had the chance to camp on-site, partake in various courses, enjoy the Recovery Lounge, and indulge in fairgrounds concessions. The Midland Radio-sponsored event, SMORR 2 MOORE Overland Rally, also offered participants a scenic 100-mile rally through the Northern Ozark Mountains.
The Recovery Lounge proved to be a popular spot, offering a serene escape with comfortable indoor patio seating, live entertainment, local map reading, and refreshing cocktails.
Amongst exhibitors, over 11 different manufacturers showcased products from the Arctic Tern line, underscoring its widespread adoption within the industry.
Among the industry partners present at MOORE were Expedition Trailers, Port-Lite, Ascent Conversions, Timberleaf Trailers, HYK Outdoors, Cedar Ridge Campers, OverVanding Solutions, Boreas Campers, Global Expedition Vehicles, Juniper Overland, Skinny Guy Campers, and more.
During the expo, we had the privilege of connecting with Steve Johnston, MD & Co-founder of the non-profit organization, A Race Against Blindness. The organization was conceived to fund sight-saving research for children after their son, Luke, was diagnosed with retinitis pigmentosa caused by Bardet-Biedl Syndrome.
Their fundraising efforts, focused on bringing sub-retinal gene therapy to human trials, aim to combat blindness caused by the rare condition. By participating in their giveaways, people not only get a chance to win killer prizes, but also contribute to an impactful cause, making an immediate impact in saving children's eyesight affected by the condition.
At Tern Overland, community and impact are at the forefront of everything we do. We believe in the power of the overlanding community to come together, support meaningful causes, and drive positive change. It's inspiring to see the industry unite in support of important initiatives, and we're proud to be a part of a community that prioritizes giving back and making a difference.
Together, we can continue to foster a sense of community, drive impact, and make a meaningful difference in the overlanding world. Thank you to everyone who joined us at MOORE Expo 2024 and contributed to such a memorable and impactful event. Here's to many more adventures and opportunities to unite as a community.
