At Tern Overland, we are thrilled to share our support for Trek for Teens, an annual fundraiser dedicated to empowering local youth through outdoor adventure programs hosted by The Launch Pad Teen Center. We are proud to be the title sponsor for this incredible event for the second year in a row. This partnership is not just about the thrill of adventure; it's about giving back to the community and providing opportunities for teens who might not otherwise have access to these experiences.

Overview: Trek for Teens

Trek for Teens 2024 is October 4 & 5!

Trek for Teens (T4T) is an extraordinary event—a Rim to Rim (R2R) hike of the Grand Canyon designed to raise funds for The Launch Pad Teen Center.

The most common route, down the North Rim's North Kaibab Trail and up the South Rim's Bright Angel Trail, is 24 miles with an elevation loss of 5,850 feet followed by a gain of 4,460 feet. You'll need physical endurance for the length of the trek as well as the elevation gain of the final miles. It takes about 10-16 hours to complete this hike.

Funds raised help local youth experience outdoor activities they might not otherwise have access to. The event includes extensive training support and logistical assistance, making it a meaningful and well-supported adventure. Tern Overland proudly sponsors this initiative, emphasizing community involvement and youth empowerment.

Trek for Teens Funding

Funds raised through Trek for Teens are crucial in supporting The Launch Pad's extensive outdoor programs. Every other Saturday, The Launch Pad organizes outdoor adventures such as hiking, canoeing, rock climbing, and horseback riding. During school breaks, they take teens on overnight camping and backpacking trips, providing them with transformative experiences that foster teamwork, personal accountability, self-reflection, and effective communication. The annual adventure-based summer camp is another highlight, where teens explore Arizona's natural beauty and build lasting skills and memories.
