When planning your Arctic Tern window installation, it’s important to determine your wall thickness. That measurement takes into account your entire wall, including the outer wall material (typically sheet metal, composite, fiberglass), any internal framing, insulation, and the finished interior wall surface material.

If condensation is forming between the panes of your Arctic Tern Awning window, that would indicate the need to control moisture levels inside the camper, something that can be very challenging. Propane heat, showers and general high humidity are some of the main contributors. Once humidity levels have dropped, the condensation should dry out on its own.

We do not recommend tinting the windows with standard automotive tint, as the acrylic material off-gasses over time, causing bubbles to form under the tint. Static-cling type tint made for residential applications can be used on the inside of the windows, and it can simply be peeled off if bubbles begin to form.
Our windows are not vehicle-specific, and we do not have a database of which windows will fit in specific makes/models/years/trims. To determine fitment, it would be necessary to measure the available space in your wall structure. This process will differ depending on the type of wall you’re working with.

If you’re experiencing rattling or insufficient retraction with your window blind & screen assembly, it may benefit from an increase in spring tension. Over time, the spring tension may decrease, requiring an adjustment. Below is a link to a video that describes the process of re-tensioning your blind & screen:

We have a window for every build! Unfortunately due to the custom nature of builds, and the great variety between van models, we can not suggest sizes. Refer to our Considerations for Fitment PDF for fitment guidelines and find additional dimensions on our website. We also recommend measuring more than once from both the inside and outside, using cardboard cut outs to mock up, and don't forget to keep in mind anything you'll be adding to the inside later such as counters or cabinets!
We do not offer custom sizes (unless buying in bulk - large quantities for builders can be discussed). We have a total of 11 window sizes, so you are bound to find one that fits!
Yes! Many people put our windows in vans. With that being said, you will need to keep certain clearances to ensure your sheet metal can flatten out for the window to install into, as well as you will need to build a frame to make your wall the correct thickness.
This depends on your build. If it is a van, most likely the answer is yes. Your wall needs to be flat and strong and fit into one of our inner frame ring ranges. Recommended materials to build spacers from can include any hard wood such as poplar, birch, or fir, as well as aluminum tubing. Do not use ply wood or other soft woods or any soft / flexy insulation material.
You will need adhesive or vhb tape to secure your spacer if you have a van, but do NOT use adhesive on the window. Using adhesive on the window will ruin the seal and cause leaking. The windows utilize screws and an inner frame ring to install, not adhesive.
Yes! Our windows are DOT Certified, and meet very strict European ECE Standards. A certification sticker is on each window.
